We all know by now that training is one of the most important things you can do for your overall health, longevity, and life fulfilment. If you feel better, are pain free, and have some level of fitness it makes just about everything in your life more pleasurable. Enjoying time with your family, sports, walking in nature, time at the beach, and even less fun things like moving house or packing for your holiday. Everything is better if you have a base level of strength and fitness.
The more you can have a habit created to help you get your exercise or training in, the less likely you are to stop or give up when life gets in the way.
If you have problems getting your training in, the best way to start building the habit is by chaining your triggers together.
So to help with this, try and set up routine triggers for your training. Training is just the 'final step' in a routine that you are used to performing.
A very simple form of habits or triggers could be -
Get water in bottle
Put training clothes on
Leave for training
And for the people that want to train early in the morning but find it difficult, prepping the night before can be a game changer. -
Pre-prepare protein smoothie in the evening, put in fridge.
Shower before bed at night
Wear training gear to bed the night before.
Wake up, grab protein smoothie from fridge,
Leave for training.
The key is to find out what works for you, and implement it. These processes will help you to improve your life!
